A few weeks ago, i had a task to make a hortatory exposition and give a speech about that topic in front of the class. After brainstorming, i chose "Culture Shock" to be my topic, because what? cause..... i don't know why, i just like to explore the new culture, new experience and i hope, i can have a chance to living in a new different country in the future ( amiiiiiieennnn o:) )
Ok , back to the topic. i wanna explain a lil' about Hortatory exposition in my own words. Hortatory exposition is an argument text which is consisting of thesis, arguments, and recommendation. The purpose is to persuade the readers that something should or shouldn't be the case. Below is my hortatory exposition, hope can be your reference if you wanna make a hortatory exposition :

Culture Shock, Problem to the New Comers

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Good morning . Firstly, thanks to Allah for enabling us to meet together today in our lovely class. And thanks to my English teacher and all of my friends to give me a chance to give a speech about "Culture Shock".

Most people who move to a new country or place go trough "Culture Shock". Culture shock is a condition of confusion that may affect us when we are suddenly exposed to an unfamiliar culture or way of life.
When living overseas in a place where the people speak a different language it can be difficult to make yourself understood even in relatively simple but important areas, such as shopping center and getting around town. It can be frustating trying to ask for something in a store, to pay and receive charge and also to try to tell the taxi driver where you are going. Of course, it makes us lazy to socialize to native.
Another source of considerable distress for some people isn't being able to eat the foods they are accustomed to. Anyone who wants to live abroad should accustomed to the local foods and the sometimes limited selection of familiar foods in the stores and restaurants. it may feel like we want to go home.
And lastly is the issue of values. A person can experience considerable stress when they are living in a different culture with different values from their own. Newcomers should learn the different of moral behavior, justice and fair play, work ethic and privacy. For some peoples who difficult to adapt different value, they will feel lonely and always miss their hometown.
There are some ways to prevent from culture shock, such as you will especially need to learn the language, even people who have studied a language for many years are often shocked at how little they understand at first. But, don't worry, the ear is like muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it will get. Living abroad is a great experience. Take the chance to immerse yourself in the new culture and eat the unique foods or traditional foods as much as you can. Remember that you are not alone in feeling culture shock, it is natural, so allow yourself to feel bad. You can also start to balance your own culture with the new one. It is important to keep in contact with your family and friend from home. The important thing is to enjoy the moment as much as you can.

OK, that's all of my speech. If there are some mistake in my speech, i am so sorry. Thank you for your attention.
Wassalamualaikum wr. wb.
